Short Bio

Atlanta, Georgia native working in Drawing, Painting, and Photography.

Statement

My recent works are exploring the toys of my childhood. These toys are an accurate summary of the time period (late 1970s throught the 1980s) that saw the birth of the half hour toy commercials and the fight to be the biggest, brightest, loudest toy on the shelves. My paintings are part anthropology of the recent past, part color study, and part rumination on my own childhood imagination and how an entirely different world can be created with just a 4 inch car or plastic cowboy.

Biography

I graduated from Georgia State University with a BFA in Photography in 2001. I spent a few years working in community arts centers in the metro area, but left the arts for a while to concentrate on my career and start a family.  Over the past 5 years, I have began drawing and painting again, and, although I still have a career outside of the arts, I continue drawing and painting in the evenings and whenever time allows.  My goal is to migrate to spending a majority of my time on my art.
